Joyland Christian Church (JCC) is a bible-believing, Spirit-filled, charitable non-profit church founded in February 2004 and located at EASTLEAGH SECTION 4 KIAMPIU in Nairobi, Kenya. JCC was started by REV. ISAIAH B. OMARIBA with his wife ABIGAEL BOGONKO and two other families at a rented house. The church is growing, but most of the church's people are very poor and struggle to pay rent and provide for their everyday needs. JCC is located on the edge of the Kibera slum, which is characterized by devastating poverty, much death and sickness, and an alarming population filled with little hope apart from Jesus.

JCC works to reach the lost with the gospel everywhere in Kenya, but especially in and around the Kibera slum. It works to improve the standard of lives both in the urban and rural communities. JCC is a legally-registered organization.

Rev. Isaiah is blessed with a wonderful wife, Abigael Bogonko being the first lady. Together, Pastor Isaiah and wife Abigael are blessed with two children: Esther (9-years-old) and Wilken (5-years-old).

We are a cell-based church built on the Apostolic and the Prophetic foundation for the purpose of being light to the dark world by fulfilling the Great Commission. The motto of JCC is "Light in darkness". Our mission is to give hope by preaching and teaching Jesus Christ [Acts 5.42]

JCC is highly involved in evangelistic campaigns in villages, but especially the Kibera slum area of Nairobi:

-We offer pastoral care and free counseling services to all God's people.

-We teach God's word to make disciples through seminars and discipleship classes.

-We integrate believers into the Body through the cell church structure system.

-To the best of our ability, we are involved in feeding programs to the destitute in the community around us.

-We conduct children vocational bible schools.

Our objective of touching the community body,
soul and spirit, has made us to see the felt needs in the
community around us.

A survey done, revealed that in this community there are cases of teenage marriages; without knowledge of modern reproductive health, resulting in large numbers of children whom the parents cannot cater for. This results in health problems, as well as malnutrition and the
health facilities around are far from the neighborhood.

Many lives have been lost, which would have been saved otherwise. Although primary education in Kenya is highly expensive, due to the high number of children, parents are not able to take them to nursery schools, majority of which are private owned and very expensive.

Many of these parents are semi - literate, being school dropouts due to early marriages, lack of school fees, ignorance by parents to take their children to school, single parenthood, etc.

This has contributed to low moral standards without observing Christian ethics which in the end results into family breakages, prostitutions, suicide, street children and HIV/AIDS as well as illegal ways of earning income for survival. JCC has a burden for the people in the slums area; we pray for them and give them food and medicine to the best of our ability.
